Deals of the day -- mergers and acquisitions
Nov 12 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals involving European, U.S. and Asian companies were reported by 0600 GMT on Friday.

** Infosys Technologies' (INFY.BO) business process outsourcing arm said it had signed a deal to acquire U.S.- based McCamish Systems for an upfront payment of $38 million, and an additional $20 million based on targets. To read more, please double click on [ID:nBMA006412]
** Hewlett-Packard Co (HPQ.N) is making a move into the network equipment market by striking a $3.1 billion deal for 3Com Corp (COMS.O), in a major challenge to Cisco Systems Inc (CSCO.O). [ID:nN11380084]
** Japan's No.3 convenience store operator FamilyMart Co (8028.T) is in talks to buy smaller rival am/pm Japan Co, a source familiar with the matter said, as Japanese convenience stores fight for dominance in an overcrowded market. [ID:nBNG460546]
** A creditor of bankrupt television station owner ION Media Networks Inc (IION.PK) has made a last-minute $250 million offer for control of the broadcast network operator. [ID:nN11216436]
** Churchill Downs Inc (CHDN.O), host of the Kentucky Derby, agreed to buy Youbet.com Inc (UBET.O) for $126.4 million to tap into new technologies as it expects more people to place bets online. [ID:nBNG510854]
** Jilin Jien's (600432.SS) bid to take control of early-stage miner Canadian Royalties (CZZ.TO) looked increasingly likely, after the No. 2 Chinese nickel producer said its tender offer had received support from a majority of Canadian Royalties' investors.
