MERGERS/DEALS (UPDATE 3)

** Tech heavyweights Cisco Systems Inc (CSCO.O) and EMC Corp (EMC.N) dampened speculation of a merger as they unveiled a partnership to take on rivals Hewlett-Packard Co (HPQ.N) and IBM (IBM.N). [ID:nN03474720]

** Fisker Automotive Inc, the builder of luxury plug-in hybrids, has picked a large distributor to sell its vehicles in Europe and is looking to sign a similar deal in China, its chief executive told Reuters. [ID:nN03503054]

** U.S. officials have asked for more information about the planned sale of MDS Inc's (MDS.TO) (MDZ.N) Analytical Technologies Division to Danaher Corp (DHR.N), the companies said. [ID:nN03484631]

** French construction group Bouygues (BOUY.PA) said it sold a further 35.7 percent of its Finagestion subsidiary to Emerging Capital Partners (ECP) for an undisclosed amount. [ID:nL3677253]
